Two short courses (for 2 and ½ days each) in Pharmaceutical Engineeringand Manufacturing are being offered at Purdue University (July 21 - 25,2008), designed specifically for the working professional.
Registration deadline: June 30, 2008.
Course 1: Properties of Particles and Solids for Formulation of Solid Dosage Forms
Description: An overview of particle, powder and compact properties critical to pharmaceutical manufacturing and commercial drug product performance. Emphasis is placed on identifying the critical properties of these systems, how to measure them and how to use the results to design quality solid dosage forms.

Course 2: Unit Operations in Solid Dosage Forms
Description: An overview of solid dose processing within the pharmaceutical industry, with emphasis on the technical aspects of mixing, size enlargement and size reduction, drying, fluid bed processing, unit dosing, coating, and packaging for stability.
Instructors: Anthony Hlinak-Head of Formulation Development, Abbott Laboratories.
